Rating Criteria For SNAP & Community Building Grants

Goals & Objectives:

  • The project should address public safety and quality of life issues and to provide activities designed to reduce crime and increase safety.
  • All objectives identified should be clear and attainable.
  • The project provides a measurable benefit to the residents.
  • The timeline is well-defined and reflects a one-year time limit.

Project Design:

  • The project design should reflect sound planning, adequate resources, and sufficient experience to ensure a reasonable expectation of success.
  • The project should include a well-defined, measurable evaluation procedure.
  • The project will be sustainable after the grant period has ended.
  • The Project should incorporate City, Weed and Seed, as well as other resources, if applicable.

Community Participation:

  • SNAP proposals must include meeting minutes showing board, and/or community approval for proposed projects.
  • Planned activities are realistic and have the support of residents.
  • The project includes broad-based involvement of neighborhood residents in the decision making process.
  • The Proposal demonstrates a realistic plan for recruiting community members such as youth, seniors and minority members to participate.
  • The project is accessible to all neighborhood residents.

Administrative Capability:

  • The requesting organization is capable of providing administrative support and supervision of the project.

Budget:

  • The proposed budget is accurate, complete, and consistent with the proposed project.
  • The budget reflects an economical use of funds.
