This community will develop a community newsletter, improve a neighborhood
park, involve youth, increase home security and extend the community's
tool lending library.
Courtland Action Team
$27,000
The Courtland Hillclimb will turn a blighted hillside into a community
gateway. Funding was provided for the production of construction documents
as part of phase one of a three-part project.
Leschi Community Council
$20,000
Leschi Community Council is working to renovate Flo Ware Park located
on Martin Luther King Jr. Way and Jackson Street. The community will receive
a SNAP grant for an art project created by youth and installed in the
park to commemorate Flo Ware, a long-time community activist.
Columbia Revitalization & Mt. View
Neighborhood Alliance
$5,000
Mt. View Neighborhood alliance was awarded a SNAP grant to design a plan
for landscaping an entry point and pathway through their community. The
area to be renovated is a dumping ground for garbage and a campground
for transients.
RainKing Neighborhood Association
$6,000
The community of RainKing is working hard to improve the safety of their
streets. The community was awarded a grant for curb designs, which will
allow them to build sidewalks and narrow roadways, providing safe access
for pedestrians and safety for children at play
